Without imagery, a moment of happiness can be all but fleeting.

'Every man who knows how to read has it in his power to magnify himself, to multiply the ways in which he exists, to make his life full, significant and interesting'. - Aldous Huxley.

Catching up on some reading was one of the best things about my recent trip away. Finding the time and opportunity to read for pleasure in this busy world always feels like somewhat of a luxury. It's rare that you are able to find hours upon hours to lay in the sun with a good book, so if you do, make the most of it. Lose track of time & immerse yourself in the ink-strewn pages of someone else's thoughts.

And accompanied with a touch of sass&bide (as always), these moments, like the words on the paper, are imprinted in my memory.

Pure Imagination.

"Hold your breath. Make a wish. Count to three.

Come with me & you'll be in a world of pure imagination. Take a look & you'll see into your imagination. We'll begin with a spin, travelling in the world of my creation..What we'll see will defy explanation.

If you want to view paradise, simply look around and view it. Anything you want to, do it. Want to change the world? There's nothing to it. There is no life I know to compare with pure imagination. Living there, you'll be free, if you truly wish to be". - Willy Wonka.

“The heart has reasons that reason does not understand". - Jacques Benigne Bossuel

We aren't all that different, you & me. We have that initial instinctive inclination to choose our heart over our head. As a result, the foundation of the human heart can often bare a strong resemblance to that of a shelf. There is only so much you can pile on to it before something falls & you are left to pick up the pieces. When you lose a piece of your heart (metaphorically, of course), it can feel like that hole in your mouth when you lose a tooth. You can still eat ice-cream, drink tea & you still have other teeth, but your tongue keeps going back to that empty place, where the nerves are still a little raw.

Albeit right or wrong..heart over head, is what I will always choose. Every time.

All you need is to be good at both jigsaw puzzles & finding their missing pieces..for they are never truly lost.
