Without imagery, a moment of happiness can be all but fleeting.

Influence

“I believe part of the process of figuring yourself out is a way of connecting the dots between the fabulous and influential people around us all, like some sort of hidden constellation – you only have to know where to look. This book is just the start”. – Ashley Olsen.

Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen’s book is the most prominent feature of my bedside table. Aptly named ‘Influence’, it is comprised of conversations with those who have inspired, supported and influenced them. From artists to designers, photographers to writers, the people in these pages share a common belief that the world should never be a boring place.

With a heart full of wanderlust..

You always find yourself indulging in the things you love when you're away.
Things like long breakfasts overlooking the water & consuming copius amounts of icecream.
You see, the things that impart the greatest feeling of happiness, are more often than not, the most simple.

Wheresoever you go, go with all your heart.

'The cure for anything is salt water - sweat, tears or the sea' - Isak Dinasen

They say that travel and change of place impart new vigor in the mind. A perfect excuse to remove yourself from routine and indulge in a weekend away.
The coast has a different atmosphere in the colder months.  Happily mesmerised by the waves
, our days were spent sitting by the fire & drinking tea on the balcony or standing on the foreshore for what felt like hours. Time is different when you're away.

Endless repose and countless cups of tea later, all that is left behind are footprints in the sand (with a personal touch, of course).

'If you want to know how much I love you, count the waves'.

“Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet, and the wind longs to play in your hair”. Khalil Gibran.

The sun can change the atmosphere of the world & there is no better feeling than to embrace it, and feel yourself melt in to the sea breeze. It leaves you feeling intoxicated with a belief that in that moment, all is right in the world.

‘I dig my toes into the sand, the ocean looks like a thousand diamonds strewn across a blue blanket. I lean against the wind, pretend that I am weightless..And in this moment I am happy’. Incubus – Wish you were here.
